Despite what the mainstream media would like Canadians to believe, there are positive solution based initiatives taking place across our great country! Freedom loving Canadians are making new connections, new friends, and rediscovering the old ways of living and taking comfort in the simple things as we navigate this “new” world together.

The other day I received a call from a woman in Nanaimo. I met her at the first Mega Rally in Vancouver back in October. She travelled from the Island to the mainland and lost her ride back to the ferry and was needing a place to stay for the night. Most of the people had left by this point, and the few people in our immediate group were not able to help her. So, I decided to book her and her little puppy a hotel for the night, so she could feel relaxed and have time to make arrangements to return home the next day. Thinking back on that call I received from her, I could tell how upset she was from the worry and anxiety in her voice. She was reaching out because she needed someone to connect with that she could trust. Her need for connection, community and support is something Odessa and I have heard from people across the country for almost a year now. We never know the impression we make on others, and it is beautiful how quickly trust can be built within our community when we all connect on shared values.

Ever since Odessa started her YouTube show, we have consistently received comments, messages and emails from people across the country who feel isolated because of their beliefs, who yearn for connection and a sense of belonging as a direct result of the rolling restrictions, mandates, and lockdowns. This was one of the original inspirations for creating the Librti Social Platform (Librti.com); to give Canadian freedom lovers and patriots a place to connect, discuss, and find comfort within a community of like minded people without censorship.

Each of us in our own way, is dealing with the reality of what we are learning about the nature of the world we are living in. It is not easy to take it all in and imagine what it is we all need to do if we are to change the path we are on. Hourly we are bombarded with fearful messaging from the media, it goes without saying that good news stories are exceedingly rare these days. So, it was an absolute joy to read about how the people of Ontario and the Police Departments across the province immediately pushed back with such decisiveness in response to the Ford government’s new restrictions in April, rejecting the use of Ford’s controversial new Police Powers, and demanding that playgrounds and sports fields be reopened. While many simply ignored the restrictions with simple civil disobedience.

Our collective voices are getting louder and more of us are standing up and standing strong! I was delighted to learn about a small community in Durham region that brought their children out to the community park for a gathering in defiance of the by-law officers who were called by their neighbours. Here in Vancouver, more inspiration! A restaurant owner defiantly led a rally right in front of her closed down restaurant! Simple, but bold and direct defiance, and it is happening all across the land.

There are some very positive and inspiring things taking place right now! Rather than fighting against the system, people are gathering to create positive experiences and solutions. I received an email from a lady who is part of a group I belong to, she highlighted several initiatives people are leading within their respective communities that I would like to share with you, not only to inspire you to get involved, but to send a message of hope that productive groups are forming across Canada. One of the initiatives mentioned in the email, and one that I am very intrigued by, is the Forest School, started by 6 families that has grown into over 100 families! Forest School focuses on teaching people how to forage, reconnect to nature, and letting kids be kids, free to play outdoors. This type of community is an amazing opportunity for parents and children to connect with each other and the Earth. The growth of the Forest School has allowed parents to branch off to create different activity groups, as well as taking part in respectful civil disobedience such as assembling at parks where closures have been announced.

It is all very inspirational! Other areas this community is focusing on include the promotion and education of health and nutrition from a preventative perspective.

These incredibly special families are also creating communities dedicated to: gardening, sprouting, herbs, herbal medicines, small balcony gardens, community gardens, preserving, canning, fermenting, storing food, homeschool pods, support groups, and mask free sports clubs (restriction free sports). Groups of families are coming together to order and stock foods in bulk to ensure food security through difficult times. We are stronger together and this is absolute proof!

The importance of facilitating the coming together and growth of communities across the country is paramount to sustaining any type of “normal” life for ourselves and our children. As this agenda keeps moving forward, ever faster, I think people are fearful of not knowing what to do or what to expect. However, in spite of continued restrictions, more and more people are stepping up, creating solutions, and are forming communities. There is hope! We have a unique opportunity to create our own future together.

We no longer need to waste negative energy fighting back against the current systems. We need to put out positive energy and invest our money, time and resources into creating alternatives and new establishments that align with our values and beliefs that will move us into creating a future we want for ourselves and the ones we love. If we continue relying on the systems and establishments that are working against us, we will hardly ever see the end of this not so “great-reset”.

Each of us can find our own way of contributing to this incredible movement. On Librti.com, we’ve built a new Communities feature, which allows our members to connect with people in their local cities, towns and communities in the hopes of facilitating more connection and collaboration. As you connect with locals in your area, who share your values and also desire to focus on solutions, we can only imagine the kind of positive change we can create throughout this country. Canadians are connecting and forming communities, discovering events and gatherings, and sharing critical information free of censorship on Librti.com. I invite you to join us and connect with your Community.
