How are donations used?

Each month we raise enough in donations to print 200,000-300,000 copies of Druthers. We have printed & distributed over 9 million copies since we began in December 2020!

100% of donations received are put towards printing papers and shipping skids across Canada. We accomplish this at a cost of only 10 cents per paper – so every $100 donated means 1000 newspapers get printed and freely given to our fellow Canadians. We respect your kind donations and use them extremely effectively & efficiently.

No overhead, salaries or other expenses are ever taken from donations. All other expenses are covered by postal subscriptions druthers.ca/subscribe, merchandise druthers.ca/shop, and our neighbourhood mail service druthers.ca/neighbourhood.

If you are able to pitch in towards printing more papers, please go to druthers.ca/donate

All subscriptions are mailed out on the 1st of the month.

All payments are for the following month’s papers. For example, payments in January pay for the February 1st mailing.

Papers are mailed via Canada Post and can take up to 2 weeks to arrive.

You can log-in anytime at www.druthers.ca/my-account to check on the status of your subscription to ensure that it has been marked as paid (your order will appear as “pending payment” or “on hold” if your payment did not go through) If all looks good and it has been more than 2 weeks, please reach out to us so we can have a look: info@druthers.ca

How can I verify that my neighbourhood mail order was delivered?

Canada Post retains electronic order records for up to 90 days from the date your order is placed.  If you contact us after your Druthers are expected to be delivered and within 90 days of placing your order, we will be happy to confirm the order status for you.  Beyond that period we are no longer able to access order tracking information, and further investigations of Neighbourhood Mail delivery becomes unfeasible.  Therefore it is important to act immediately if you determine that Druthers were not received within 3 business days from your expected delivery start date.

If you are concerned that an order may not be delivered as planned, and all available mailboxes in the given delivery route(s) were included in your order, then Canada Post requires us to provide 3 or more addresses within the targeted postal route(s) which did not receive a Druthers.  These addresses must be absent from Canada Post’s “Consumers’ Choice” (aka: no-flyers) list for at least 4 weeks prior to the expected delivery start date.

If you have any questions about your order and/or when you have obtained 3 or more addresses which meet the above criteria, then please email us the information along with your order number.

How long will it take for my neighbourhood mail order to be delivered?

We normally deliver orders of Druthers to Canada Post within 1-3 business days from receipt of payment. From then it depends on Canada Post, which can take a further 2-6 business days for urban locations in Ontario (4-10 days for rural). Yukon, North West Territories, Nunavut and Vancouver Islands normally arrive at their destination Post Office within 5-13 business days, and all other provinces within 4-10 business days. Upon arrival the destination Post Office has 3 business days to complete the delivery in full.

We will send you an email shortly after we ship your order with further details about the selected postal routes and the expected delivery start date provided by Canada Post.

How many mailboxes are in my Postal Code?

To search for the number of mailboxes in a Postal Code, along with it’s specific delivery route or routes (aka: “walk number”), using Canada Post’s Precision Targeter web-page:

The page may take some time to load, once it’s loaded,
Click “continue
Enter Postal Code
Hit enter
Your postal route will be highlighted in blue.
Look under “Total Residential” -this is the number of homes in your postal route
(number will likely be between 100 to 1200 homes).

If the tool returns a big number, doesn’t work for you, or the tool highlights a PO (post office) instead of a postal route (2 letters followed by 4 numbers), this usually means multiple routes cover that postal code and Canada Post should be contacted with the street name you would like to target to find your specific postal route number. In this case, please contact us with your address info.

If you experience any difficulty, feel free to email us and we will be glad to help find the information you need.

Do you ship to the USA or other countries?

Yes we are quite happy to mail Druthers to anyone, anywhere in the world. Additional shipping charges may apply during checkout.
