Seniors Should Not Live in Fear of the Health Authority
By Trevor Wicks
The golden years of happy, peaceful retirement have become a nightmare for many seniors in British Columbia, Canada. Some of the elderly in our society have become unwilling participants in an authoritarian takeover of their lives, freedoms and any hope for the future. They can be “incarcerated” with a life sentence and no rights or independence. This is becoming an all too common fate for many vulnerable elderly victims of a carefully orchestrated government scheme.
For those of us who believed that this could not happen in a free and democratic country like Canada, think again. Throughout history, the vulnerable members of society have been taken advantage of and abused—Jews in Nazi Germany, African slaves, natives in newly discovered lands, and the list goes on. Why would seniors in Canada become a target in 2025?
MONEY is a driving force; millions of dollars can change hands in the action of just one individual’s apprehension and confinement. Substantial sums of cash can originate from both the taxpayer and the assets and estates of the victims. In some cases, entire life savings and estates have been “redirected” to an unidentified beneficiary by government authorities and the convoluted court system. The extent of this conspiracy process is unknown because information about these transactions is withheld for privacy reasons.

In our situation, my loving wife of sixty-two years, Eileen, was forcibly removed from our comfortable home and has been held in custody by Island Health since January 2022. We do not have any substantial assets to redirect; however, the government health care system has very deep pockets, and it is clear that there is little to no oversight. This blank cheque acts like a magnet to those who prioritize financial gain over the rights, health, and well-being of their victims. An estimated one and a half million dollars of health care and other tax money has been squandered on Eileen’s case.
The combination of unlawful activity, cover-up, gag orders, and lies culminated in a kind of kangaroo court, at which time Eileen was sentenced to what is possibly a life in confinement, with no quality of life or chance of parole. Approximately 20,000 individuals in BC are subjected involuntarily to apprehension each year under the Mental Health Act.3 Many other seniors lose their freedom under the Adult Guardianship Act and the Public Guardian and Trustee Act. Once the bureaucratic and legal system has its talons into an individual, it is almost impossible to escape. There is no justice within the justice system because they make the rules and then blindfold and hamstring the victims to ensure that the authorities win the game. Some operatives in the scheme appear to have narcissistic tendencies and use money to gain power and authority over other people’s lives. For the many individuals caught up in the conspiracy, their lives are in danger.
