How to Spot a PsyOp

As I watched the ascension and coronation of Mark “Carnage” over the past few months, it’s obvious to me that this was not democracy in action. This was an operation, largely a psychological operation—a psyop, also called “engineered reality.” It’s amazing to me that most Canadians have no idea. They can’t see it because they have no idea what a psychological operation is. Most live in an “engineered reality,” but I simply call it a fantasy. So, perhaps this is a good opportunity to review the nature of psychological operations, how we can detect them, and what we can do about them.
I have been involved in politics, political parties, election campaigns, and leadership campaigns for a large part of my life. I have never seen such a lopsided victory–86% of the vote going to one candidate in a field of four credible candidates, including cabinet ministers and the deputy prime minister, is unheard of. Note also that numerous potential candidates were “disqualified,” withdrew,” or “failed to qualify.” This has become the norm in Canadian politics. The “candidates” are pre-selected and pre-approved by “somebody.” Any real and free candidates are not allowed to take part. And, hundreds of thousands of Liberal party members were not allowed to vote, prevented from doing so by a variety of procedural and technical problems. Out of 400,000 qualified party members, only about 150,000 votes were counted. All of this is part of controlling “democracy,” communist style.
Other sources even pointed out that Mr. Carnage also got nearly the same result (86% of the votes) in every single federal constituency! This is impossible. As Sherlock Holmes used to say, “Once you remove what is impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.” The improbable truth is that this election was rigged. It wasn’t an election at all. Somebody selected Mark Carnage as our next prime minister and had the means to install him in that position. This is even more evidence that Canada stopped being a democracy a long time ago.

One of the mistakes in the freedom movement has been to blame Justin Trudeau for all the tyranny in the federal government. It’s human nature to want to focus our anger on an individual person, to blame one for the “sins of the many.” But it looks to me like this anger directed at Trudeau was also partly a psychological operation. Once Trudeau was out of the picture and a new “saviour” was brought on stage, public opinion shifted—or at least the controlled media tells us it shifted. Now, the Liberals are back up in the polls, and otherwise sensible people are thinking that Mark Carnage will “save” Canada. The truth is, only the actors have changed. The roles are the same. The script is the same. It’s all theatre, and the show goes on. Mark Carnage will surely do to Canada what his British detractors (and creators of the name “Carnage”) watched him do to the UK.
Interestingly, freedom people understood that Trudeau was a puppet but blamed him anyway. Trudeau was never smart enough to come up with all the ideas. He was always taking orders from Klaus Schwab, or Mark Carnage himself, or some other level of the “control system.” Trudeau is evil and foolish. Mark Carnage is evil and intelligent. That’s far more dangerous. Carnage is another Klaus Schwab stooge. He is a motherWEFer, a Bilderburger, an elite of the elite. As usual, the stories we are told about him—the public narrative—are a carefully calculated mixture of truth, lies, misdirection, and fantasy. Let’s take a look at how to separate these. That is, let’s take a look at psychological operations in general.
How to Spot a Psyop
- Analyze the source. Is it credible? Sensational? Psyops thrive on sensationalism.
- Who owns/controls the platform? There are only about six owners of all the mainstream media platforms in North America, and all get their “information” from the same source.
- Are multiple outlets parroting the same narrative? Psyops use coordinated messaging to reinforce a narrative—the cover story for the operation. When exactly the same narrative comes from multiple sources, it’s usually a psyop. Real news and real life have multiple narratives.
- The FATE model. This triggers the reptilian part of our mind that reacts instinctively, without rational thinking.
- Focus: Is someone trying to distract your attention with repetitive content and shock? Why? Is one story/narrative being given lots of focus/airtime while other important stories are ignored? There’s a reason. Stay focused on what you know for sure, what is important in your own life.
- Authority: Is this information coming from a real authority (based on knowledge/experience)? Or is this coming from a fake authority—someone in a position of power/influence but lacking real expertise or people speaking outside their area of expertise? Are authorities shifting their tone or message unnaturally to support the narrative? For example, masks are unnecessary; now masks are useful, now compulsory, now two masks—all without evidence.
- Tribe: Is this dividing/polarizing people into antagonistic tribes? Creating “in” groups and “out” groups who suddenly hate each other. For example: patriots vs traitors, scientific vs deniers, Canadian vs Americans. Are you being pushed to hate people you didn’t hate yesterday? This exploits our tribal instincts—our need to belong. It’s psychologically powerful. Don’t be drawn into that.
- Emotion: Beware of messages that carry strong emotion—fear, outrage, anger, hope. Strong emotions suppress rational thinking. Emotions are way more powerful than thoughts. That’s the point—to get you to react emotionally. Be in control of your own emotions. Don’t let the narrative hijack them. This is always a psyop. They control your emotions, to control your thoughts, to control your actions. Take back control of yourself.
- Check the evidence. A fake narrative always lacks hard evidence and is promoted with opinions, lies, exhortations, logical fallacies, suppression of other voices, etc.
- Is this going to expand government control or justify new laws? It’s likely a psyop. Notice that Mark Carnage wants more control over the “climate,” and he wants to destroy our energy industry, which means destroying Alberta.
- Analyze coverage patterns. Real news co-exists with other stories. Psyops dominate the news cycle and drown out other stories.
- Look for follow-ups. Real news evolves with new updates and new information. Psyops push the same narrative, then fade away once they have achieved their purpose if the purpose is a distraction.
- Trust your gut. Does something just feel “off?” Does it pass the sniff test? Or is it really BS? Does your “gut” tell you that Mark Carnage got ten times more votes than the deputy prime minister?
- Cultivate critical thinking skills. Learn the most common logical fallacies, like the ad hominem attack, the red herring, the straw man, the appeal to emotion, and the appeal to authority. Look for patterns in how the media and government communicate. Are they leading you to give up power or money, and are they proposing new laws? Are they focused on fear, and/or increasing government power? That’s a psyop.
- Timing is huge. Ask yourself, “What other scandals/issues might this be distracting us from?” Intel people call this a “dangle” to distract your attention away from something they want you to ignore. Isn’t it curious that the fear of a 25% tariff with the US has completely pushed aside the much bigger economic impact of the upcoming increase in the carbon tax? It’s a dangle.
- Analyze the context boundary. Context defines what is permissible. Manipulative people shift contexts to normalize extreme behaviour. What might be an acceptable suspension of freedoms in a real emergency would never be acceptable without the emergency. Often, cognitive dissonance is weaponized, and then a false context is created that makes people go along with almost anything. Canada does not have a crisis with the US. But the appearance of a crisis is being created. Ordinary, rational people are going off the deep end in their hatred for our American brothers and sisters. This response is out of context, a clear sign you’ve been psyoped.
- Look for stock characters. Real humans are complex, with conflicting motivations. Life is never black and white, good guys and bad guys. When we are presented with stock characters—heroes, villains, saviours—the narrative is likely a psyop. A psyop will simplify every conflict, create caricatures, telling us who is the hero and who is the villain. We are led to love the hero and hate the villain. Real people and real life is far more nuanced. Look for the nuance, the complexities, of real life. Think about the complex web of personalities and lies that is the Ukraine war. It’s a psyop.
- Be alert to rapid compliance shifts. This one is scary and it’s happening every day. Psyops create urgency to drive rapid compliance. These tactics are stuff like emotional appeals, staged group behaviours, or false consensus. Slow down and resist the pressure to act. Question the conformity. Test the message. Rapid compliance shifts are usually connected to some divisive political agenda. Notice how quickly Canadians have turned against Americans. This is a big red flag.
Whether or not you are willing to accept it, psychological operations rule our lives. They fill our minds with fantasies that we accept as truth. Thus, our thoughts, words, and actions are all a response to fantasy, not to reality. That’s exactly the goal of psychological warfare. The solutions are many, but all begin by returning to reality, and restructuring our lives and our communities around truth, personal responsibility, moral strength, self-reliance, and cooperation within our communities.
